You make a good point about false sense of security but this is only an issue if you actually believe that obscurity is adding significant security (as opposed to a minimal extra layer) or is your only security.
I still think that considering the minimal amount of trouble need to add some obscurity it just makes sense.
If you don't think obscurity has any place then post a list of all your network/security systems on your main web sites. Add a list of all software and running services. Include the SSID for your wireless network or just name it after your company for the attackers convenience. I doubt anyone would say these are good ideas buy they all fall into the obscurity realm.
Just to clarity obscurity by itself is not security but it can be an extra stumbling block on the security stack your attackers face.
